Overall structure performance well in marine use
Simple and reliable structure: 200WN-500WN and 600WNQ-1000WNQ type dredge pump with a single pump casing or double pump casing, single stage single suction cantilever horizontal structure. According to the connection type with the gear box, there are two kinds of typical structure, one is with independent support, the other is combined with gear box. The lubrication of pump with support is grease lubrication or thin oil lubrication. The double casing design can make the pump body safe even when the liner is worn out. Easy to disassemble and maintenance: WN type dredging pump can be disassembled from front. This make the disassemble and maintenance easier.

Even though water works great it as a heat sink you will probably still need to supplementally heat since you need 2-4 gallons of water for each square foot of exposed glazing So an uninsulated 6×8 gh would need 970 gallons — that is why you want to insulate the entire north wall and as much of the rest of the gh as possible 300-400gal (~6 barrels) or an aquaponics system
150metres of black MDPE pipe (100m of 25mm and 50m of 20mm) , heating a 10ft Intex metal frame pool , controlled by a home made arduino nano based control system.
The arduino nano uses two DS18B20 addressable one wire sensors one in the output from the black MDPE pipes and the other in the input to the pool pump (I had a spare connection adapter and didn’t want to just hang the sensor in the pool).
The Nano simply then drives a relay which in turn drives a large industrial SSR which could drive loads up to 50A with a suitable heatsink (left over from scrapping a production line), This keeps the 5V side completely separate from the 240VAC side (the whole box is fed from an RCBO anyway but extra safety never hurts).
The Nano / relay / SSR drives a Submersible pump which is run when the solar water temp is 1.5C higher than the pool .. if it isn’t it simply waits till it is then starts pumping again.
The little display is one of those dirt cheap 5110 LCD style screens that just shows-

You might have noticed another relay in there with a ‘V’ on it , this was going to be used to drive a 5v solenoid valve to shut off the return flow and hold the water in the loop to aid heating on overcast days….but the solenoid valve never turned up from china … Turns out the system works well with out it … as no air’s getting in so no water comes out so the pump/pipes stay primed with water overnight no problems.
So instead I’m going to use it with another SSR (there’s room on the heatsink for two ) to automate either the filter pump …or maybe some underwater lighting using a light sensor…. we’ll see.
Ok so its not free heating as you have to run the pump all the time the water in the MDPE pipe is warm enough but It sure beats using purely electric to heat the pool ….a Better option would be an air source heat pump …but thats costs at least 6x the cost of this (for a cheap unit ) and still costs much more to run….and is no fun to make.
