Introduction

Type SPSP(R) pumps are vertical, centrifugal slurry pumps which are submerged in sump to work. They are designed for delivering abrasive, large particle and high density slurries. These pumps do not need any shaft seal and sealing water. They can also be operated normally for insufficient suction duties.

Wet parts of type SP pumps are made of abrasion-resistant metal.

All parts of type SP(R) pump immersed in liquid are lined with rubber. They are suited to transport the slurry which contains non-edge and abrasive particle .

The type with “L” is series of sump pump with extended shaft , which is suited for the working condition of deeper level. The guide bearing construction is added to the pump on the basis of the standard pump, so the pump is with both more steady operation and wider application range, but flushing water should be attached to the guide bearing.

    This instructional video will show you how to install or replace a shower pump.
    For the purposes of this video we are installing a Grundfos Niagra 1.5 bar
    shower pump. But this video will work for Salamander, Grundfos Amazon, Grundfos nile and Stuart turner. The 1.5 bar relates to the pressure output delivered by the pump.
    When you receive a pump they often come with flexible hoses supplied. This makes the
    installation much easier. These are rubber washers to use in water connection.
    They’re very important so don’t lose them. If we look closely we can see the
    water supply inlet and the rubber feet. These disperse
    any vibration caused by the pump in operation. On the outlet of the pump there are two
    pressure sensors. When the
    pressure drops due to a shower being opened the sensors activate the pump.
    Before doing any work on a shower pump ensure it is electrically isolated by switching it
    off and pulling the fuse. Remove the electrical box cover and remove the wires
    once you have ensured they are not live by using a volt meter.
    Turn off the hot and cold water supply to the pump.
    Remove the pump water connections, making a note of which ones are the inlet and
    the outlet.
    Sometimes water is still in the pipes so have a bucket or towel handy to catch any drips.
    Remove the old pump.
    Fortunately the new pump is the same model so no major alteration in
    pipework is required.
    Use the rubber washer supplied to make a watertight seal. Ensure the washer with the gauze filter
    is on the inlet. This protects the pump from any debris in the water. Tighten all joints right up and turn on the water supply. Check for leaks.
    Now remove the electrical cover of the new pump. Thread your wire through the nut, rubber washer and cover before connecting the wires. Identify which wires go in which terminal and using a small slotted screwdriver tighten them in place.
    Now replace your electrical cover.
    It’s often a good time to try and purge your system of air before running the pump. Do this by opening your shower valve.Turn on the electrics and test pump operation by using the shower.
